Abstract:

To improve a Ti-V-Ni hydrogen storage alloy and to obtain a hydrogen storage alloy electrode excellent in preservability at high temp.

This hydrogen storage alloy is represented by the general formula TixVyMzNi1-x-y-z (where M is at least one kind of element selected from among Cr, Mo and W, 0.2≤x≤0.4, 0.3≤y<0.7, 0.1≤-z≤0.3 and 0.6≤x+y+z≤0.95) and the principal component of the alloy phase has a body- centered cubic structure. This alloy may further contain at least one kind of element selected from among Co, Fe, Cu, Ag, Al, Mn, Zn, Zr, Hf, Si, B, P, S and rare earth elements by ≤5atom.% per one element based on the total amt.
