Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the plateau effect. of a Ti-Zr-Fe-Cr alloy and to freely regulate the equilibrium pressure of formation-dissociation of a hydride by specifying the compsn. of the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A compsn. represented by general formula I (where A is Ni and/or Co or two or more among Fe, Ni and Co) is imparted to an alloy. The plateau effect for which hysteresis of the alloy are improved does not deteriorate the hydrogen occluding and releasing properties of the alloy and the equilibrium pressure of formation-dissociation of a hydride can freely be regulated. In other way, a compsn. represented by formula II (where A is one or more among Fe, Ni and Co, and B is one or more among Nb, Pro and V) is imparted to an alloy. The plateau effect of the alloy is improved, deterioration due to poisoning by impurities is prevented and fine powdering due to repeated occlusion and release of hydrogen can also be inhibited.
