To obtain a copolymer having a polymer block which mainly comprises a specific hydrogenated conjugated diene monomer, capable of giving a thermoplastic elastomer excellent in, e.g. resistance to heat, and excellent in, e.g. resistance to shock.
This copolymer is composed of a polymer block A mainly composed of at least 2 vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon monomer units, and a polymer block B mainly composed of at least 2 hydrogenated conjugated diene compound monomer units, at least 90% of the olefinic unsaturated double bonds present in the unhydrogenated polymer block mainly composed of conjugated diene compound monomer units being hydrogenated, wherein at least one of the terminal blocks is the polymer block B, the polymer block B accounts for 0.1 to 9.1 wt.% of the hydrogenated block copolymer, and 12 to 25% of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon compounds are bound in the hydrogenated block copolymer.
