Title:
HYDROGENATING CATALYST USED IN PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3736581
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a palladium catalyst having excellent strength and abrasion resistance and high activity in an anthraquinone producing process in the production of hydrogen peroxide by supporting palladium on spherical silica particles having a specific particle size and specific pore vol.
SOLUTION: 0.1-10.0wt.% of palladium is supported on spherical silica particles having a particle size of 10-100μm in an amt. of at least 90wt.% or more thereof and an average particle size of 30-60μm and pore vol. of 0.4-1.0ml/g to obtain a palladium catalyst. This catalyst almost generates no breakage in a reducing reactor and is extremely reduced in the peeling of palladium and has excellent strength and abrasion resistance. This palladium catalyst is obtained by bringing specific silica particles into contact with an ammonium ion soln. to subject the same to the ion exchange with ammonium ions before bringing the silica particles into contact with a soln. of a palladium compd. to subject the same to the ion exchange with ions containing palladium.
