Abstract:

The use of a catalyst in a fluidised bed process, comprising an extruded alumina support.This consists of numerous juxtaposed agglomerates, optionally containing a catalyst metal or compound of group VIB and/or a catalyst metal or compound of group VIII.The sum, S, of the group VIB and VIII metals (as oxides) is 0 - 50% wt., and each agglomerate is partly in the form of laminates and partly as needles.The needles are uniformly dispersed around and between the laminates.
