To obtain a hydrophilization treating composition capable of forming a hydrophilized film excellent in persistence of hydrophilicity (a waterdrop contact angle or whole surface water wettability), corrosion resistance, malodor, etc., on heat exchanger fin materials.
This hydrophilization treating composition for the heat exchanger fin materials comprises (A) at least one kind of polymer selected from polyglycerol and polyvinyl alcohol, (B) a high-acid value acrylic resin having ≥300 mg KOH/g resin acid value and (C) a water-soluble resin other than the polymer (A) and the high-acid value acrylic resin (B) and the resin solid matter of the hydrophilization treating composition has ≥200 mg KOH/g resin acid value and ≥100 mg KOH/g hydroxy value. The method for hydrophilization treatment of the heat exchanger fin materials comprises coating the surfaces of aluminum fin materials with the hydrophilization treating agent, baking the coated hydrophilizing treatment agent and forming a film having 0.2-5 μm dried film thickness.
