Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable aqueous dispersion of hydrophobic silica aerogel particles capable of uniformly and stably dispersing a silica aerogel in an aqueous dispersion medium in which the thixotropic properties and high viscosity of a dispersion medium are maintained even when being left at room temperature or under heating for a long period and to provide a solid composite material obtained by drying the aqueous dispersion.SOLUTION: There is provided an aqueous dispersion of silica aerogel particles which is obtained by dispersing silica aerogel particles in a dispersion medium containing organic nanofibers having an anionic functional group, a water-soluble nonionic surfactant and water. There is provided a solid composite material having excellent heat insulating properties and sound absorbing properties and having high strength, which is obtained by drying the aqueous dispersion of silica aerogel particles.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
