The hydraulic oil tank 4 of a hand-held wire cutter 1 and a differential hydraulic cylinder 3 are connected to each other by hydraulic conduits 13 and 22. A pressure intensifier section 16 is connected between two check valves 19 and 20 provided in the conduit leading to the extended side port of the cylinder 3, and the ram 18 of the pressure intensifier section is driven by a pneumatic pressure cylinder section 2. When a fast-forward trigger lever 36 is operated, pressure air is introduced from a pneumatic source to the air chamber 4a of a hydraulic oil tank 4 to advance the piston 21 of the differential hydraulic cylinder 3 at a high speed, and a cutter 27 attached to the piston 21 is clashed with an article to be cut. When a pressure intensified trigger layer 37 is operated, the pneumatic pressure cylinder section 2 is actuated to drive the ram 18 to be reciprocated, hydraulic fluid is boosted to advance the piston 21 by a high thrust force, and a bottle, a wire or the like is cut by cutters 26 and 27.
