Abstract:
To provide a new compound having antioxidation action on LDL cholesterol and provide a new agent for the treatment of arteriosclerosis.
The invention relates to a hydroquinone derivative consisting of a compound expressed by general formula (I) (R1 is a 4-8C alkyl) or its cyclodextrin clathrate compound, a composition for the treatment of arteriosclerosis containing the derivative as an active component and a composition for the treatment of arteriosclerosis containing a hydroquinone derivative consisting of a compound expressed by general formula (II) (R2 is a 4-8C alkyl; and R3 is H or a 2-6C alkylcarbonyl group or alkoxycarbonyl group) or its cyclodextrin clathrate compound as an active component.
