Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is 1W10C aliphatic group, having 0W3 unsaturated bonds and optionally substituted by lower alkoxy, etc., or H; X is H or a protecting group of OH; Y is C(OR21)(SR22)SiR31 R32R33 (R21 is lower alkyl; R22 is phenyl which may be substituted by 1W3 lower alkyl, etc.; R31WR33 are lower alkyl or R22)].

EXAMPLE: 2-Carbomethoxymethyl-3-[methoxy(phenylthio)trimethylsilylmethyl]-4- [dimethyl(tert-butyl)silyloxy]cyclopentanone.

USE: A medicine, agricultural chemical and intermediate therefor.

PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III to give a reaction product, which is then reacted with a compound expressed by the formula R1Z (Z is halogen).
