Title:
HYDROXYPROPYLCELLULOSE WITH LOW SUBSTITUTION DEGREE, COMPOSITION THEREOF AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3212531
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound capable of providing excellent collapsibility to a tablet and a granule even in addition of a small amount by specifying a proportion of one-substituted body in anhydrous glucose units in a cellulose substituted with a hydroxypropyl group.
SOLUTION: The objective compound is obtained by regulating the proportion of one-substituted body having only one molecule substituted with a hydroxypropyl group in anhydrous glucose units substituted with the hydroxypropyl groups so as to be ≥80mol% of the whole glucose units containing plural number-substituted body. The compound is obtained by reacting (i) a pulp containing ≤0.07wt.%, preferably 0.05wt.% dichloromethane-soluble portion with (ii) (A) an alkali cellulose obtained by impregnation of sodium hydroxide and (B) 0.2-1.0mol propylene oxide per anhydrous glucose unit of the component A at 40-80°C for 1-5hr, neutralizing the free alkali in the reaction product with an acid, and washing, drying and pulverizing the neutralized reaction product.
