Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To curb adhesion of a reductant agent to an electrode.SOLUTION: A high-active substance adding device which adds a reductant agent to exhaust at an upstream side of a NOx purification device 15 on an exhaust passage 10ex of an internal combustion engine 10 comprises a discharge reactor 20 and an electric heater 34 (heating means). The discharge reactor 20 forms a distribution passage 22a to allow oxygen gas to be distributed therein, has an electrode 21 arranged on the distribution passage 22a and ionizes the oxygen gas by discharge of the electrode 21. The electric heater 34 vaporizes liquid hydrocarbon by heating the same. By supplying the hydrocarbon heated by the electric heater 34 to the distribution passage 22a, the high-active substance adding device generates a reforming reductant agent as a high-active substance by oxidizing the hydrocarbon with the ionized oxygen gas.
