PURPOSE: To obtain the subject agent consisting of a sustained release preparation containing an antiendothelin substance and capable of selectively, safely and surely lowering only blood triglyceride concentration, hardly changing blood cholesterol concentration.
CONSTITUTION: This agent consists of a sustained release preparation containing an antiendothelin substance {preferably endothelin antagonist such as peptide of the formula ]ASP(R1') is aspartic aid β-4-phenylpiperazine amide residue; Thg(2) is 2-thienylglycine]. A microcapsule preparation using in vivo degradable polymer such as aliphatic polyester is preferably used as a form of the sustained release preparation, because administration is also simple and prolonged period after administration is long. Furthermore, when endothelin antagonist is formed into a microcapsule preparation, a blend amount of endothelin antagonist is preferably 0.1-20% (w/w) based on in vivo degradable polymer.
