Abstract:
To obtain a hypoglycemic agent containing a lactic bacterium cell body as an active ingredient, capable of decreasing a blood glucose level in blood and effective in prevention and treatment for diabetes independent of insulin.
This hypoglycemic agent contains a lactic bacterium cell body such as Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactococcus lactis, Lactococcus cremoris and Lactobacillus delbrueckii lactis as an active ingredient. The daily dose of the lactic bacterium cell body is 60-100mg/kg weight and the cell body is orally dosed with a food.
