To provide shellfish having an IC tag in which the IC tag is attached by a label being difficult to detach it, strong to external shock, environment and passage of time, difficult to carry out modification/duplication/diversion, free from influence on a molluscous part and not requiring detachment when heated.
The molluscous part and a mantle on front and right sides of an abalone 10 are lifted by a spatula, etc. When lifted, a part corresponding to the rear surface of seashell in which width of a prismatic layer area in which a pearl layer is unformed is the widest is exposed. Water content such as sea water of the exposed part is wiped and the wiped part is immersed into an aqueous solution of citric acid to clean the part. Since the part is roughened by the aqueous solution of citric acid, the IC tag 11 sealed in a polyethylene resin is bonded to the part by using a dental adhesive.
