Title:
METHOD FOR DRYING CERAMIC MOLDED BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07109166
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a ceramic molded body of good quality without any cracking by carrying out the primary drying of the molded body in a humid atmosphere, slowly reducing the moisture content in the interior of the molded body and then performing the secondary drying in the same manner as that of the conventional drying in such state that a difference in moisture content between the outer surface and the interior is reduced.

CONSTITUTION: This method for drying a ceramic molded body is to carry out the primary drying and subsequent secondary drying of the molded body molded by a slip-casting process before sintering thereof. In the process, the humidity at the time of starting the primary drying is set at ≥90% and the temperature thereof is set within the range of 30-40°C. The secondary drying step is performed based on a temperature curve in which the temperature is kept at about 70°C and about 180°C for long periods. The primary drying step may be carried out so as to lower the humidity to about 50% gradually or linearly with the elapse of time.
