Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a chip cover device in a machine tool devised to prevent scatter of chips caused by cutting even when a high pressure coolant works.
CONSTITUTION: A first cover member 9 covering the overall of a cutting tool rotation axis 5 with a plural number of cutting tools arranged on it and provided with an opening 10 at a cutting position with which a workpiece 8 makes contact and a second cover member 16 installed on a workpiece bench 3 facing against the opening 10 are furnished, and a discharge port 17 to discharge the chips with the coolant is provided on the first cover member 9.
