PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for the work of processing joints so as to allow a small number or workers to lay artificial turf efficiently by permitting both ends of a large drum on which a roll of artificial turf is wound to be supported between right and left frames in such a manner as to be able to be rotationalIy driven, and placing the right and left frames in position on right and left trucks.
CONSTITUTION: The right and left trucks 4 of an artificial-turf laying device 1 are placed in position on a lifter 17. With a roll of large-size artificial turf 8 wound on a drum 6, the artificial-turf laying device 1 enclosed in a pit device 15 is conveyed out of the pit device 15 and moved to the end of a laying area. Right and left running drive motors 3 are driven synchronously to run the trucks 4 toward a point at the other end of the artificial-turf laying area. At the same time, right and left rotating drive motors 11 are driven synchronously to rotate the drum 6 in the required direction; in this case, the speed of rotation of the drum 6 is controlled to match the speed of travel of the trucks 4, so that as the trucks 4 travel, the artificial turf 8 is unwound from the drum 6 and laid in sequence.
