PURPOSE: To keep on normal discharge between a work and a tool electrode, and thereby enhance machining efficiency even in rough machining and precise machining by providing a discharge control means keeping particulate solids or particulate liquid which are dispersed in machining fluid filled in a gap between the work and the tool electrode, at density at the time of normal discharge.
CONSTITUTION: A density control means such as a filter Fa is provided to keep particulate solids or particulate liquid which are dispersed in machining fluid filled in a gap between a work and a tool electrode, at density at the time of normal discharge. The density control means is equipped with a filter means 8 which is controlled to allow particulates to be removed based on the measured density of particulate solids or particulate liquid dispersed in machining fluid, and with a particulate applying means which applies and disperses particulates prepared in advance into machining fluid.
