PURPOSE: To obtain a disk recorder capable of copying at high speed referring to the copying of disk data.

CONSTITUTION: Two disk devices having two reproducing heads a3, b4 and two recording heads a5, b6 are provided, then groups of reproducing head and recording head copying the copy area which is set from a copy area setting signal 8, by sharing the work with P pieces (P≤M) of reproducing heads and Q pieces (P≤Q≤N) of recording heads, are decided. Then, the control is made by a control means 7 of copy area calculation and reproducing head/recording head so that the copies of each group are finished at the same time, then the coping is made for each group.
