Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to facilitate the preparation of the title composition and adhesive and to improve the odor and storage stability of the adhesive, by adding a rosin acid salt to a copolymer obtained by the aqueous radical polymerization of a specified monomer in the presence of a chloroprene polymer. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer is obtained by adding 10-90 pts.wt. monomer of the formula CH2=CR-CO-OR<1> (wherein R is a 1-4C alkyl or H, and R<1> is a 1-12C alkyl) to 100 pts.wt. latex chloroprene polymer obtained by polymerizing chloroprene, alone or together with a monomer copolymerizable therewith, at a polymerization temperature <=25 deg.C in the presence of, preferably, a sulfo group-containing anionic surfactant and/or a nonionic surfactant and performing the aqueous radical graft polymerization of this mixture to a conversion of, preferably, 70-100wt.%. At least 0.5 pt.wt. rosin acid salt is added to 100 pts.wt. obtained copolymer to obtain a chloroprene copolymer composition. This composition is spray-dried and dissolved in an organic solvent to obtain an adhesive.
