Abstract:
PURPOSE:To classify powdery metal having the desired particle size under excellent productivity by screening raw powder of high quality metal through plural sieves having different meshes, recovering powder on each sieve into each container through a pipe and arranging a vacuum valve between the recovery pipe and the container. CONSTITUTION:At the time of collecting the powder having the desired particle size by classifying the raw powder of high quality metal, such as superalloy, the container 18 charged with the raw powder is connected with a vessel 1 in a classifier 4 with the pipe 5 through the vacuum valve 23, and plural sieves 12, 13, whose meshes become fine from upper step toward lower step in the classifier, are fitted and the powdery metal on each sieve is connected with each container 19, 20. After evacuating the classifier 1 and both containers 19, 20 and removing the oxidizing air by supplying Ar of inert gas from a pipe 10, by opening the vacuum valve 23, the raw powder in the container 18 is dropped to the classifier and classified through the sieves 12, 13, and by opening the vacuum valves 21, 22 arranged to the recovery pipes 8, 9, the classified metal powder is recovered in the containers 19, 20, with each particle size. The metal powder surface is not oxidized and exchange of the containers 19, 20 is facilitated by opening/closing the vacuum valves 21, 22 and the metal powder is classified under excellent productivity.
