Abstract:
A rotary offset printing machine has print cylinders (4) that have a coating of a colour carrying material and these are in contact with elastomer cylinders (3). The surfaces are cleaned by a process that removes all particles from the print relief pattern on the surfaces. This process has cleaning stations (7,8) in which a cleaning fluid is directed at the surface along the length. Each station has high pressure spray nozzles supplied by a combined pumping and suction system. The spray heads are located in an enclosure to prevent dispersion of the fluid.
