Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form an optimum image by the image forming apparatus of a color printer having an output color component different from an input color component, by developing an image on each image memory means corresponding to the inherent input color component possessed by inputted PDL data and applying image processing to a set of input color component data and calculating output color component data to form an image. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 5 receives the transmission command of PDL data through an external interface circuit 2 to operate a DMAC 8 and performs DMA transmission to a PDL data memory 3. After the finish of DMA transmission, the red, green and blue components of an image are developed on full page image memories 4-1-4-3. Next, the color component image data simultaneously read from the full page image memories 4-1-4-3 according to the address from an address generating part 12 are inputted to an image processing circuit 33 and each of the component images of yellow, magenta, cyan and black is outputted as an image forming signal VOUT 27. The output of the circuit 33 is corrected in gradation by a gradation control circuit 34 to be inputted to a laser driver 10 and laser 11 is driven to form an image.
