PURPOSE: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic device which can easily search the medical examination image of the next patient under reproducing, arbitrary patient or arbitrary mode among medical examination images recorded in a recording/reproducing means in the case of diagnozing plural patients like a massive examination.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of starting a medical examination, a code generating command, patient code or code of a medical examination mode is inputted from a code generating/input means 1. The code generated by the code generating/input means 1 is added to the video signal for recording/reproducing of a recording/reproducing device 6 by a code adding/removing means 3. When the required code is inputted from the code generating/input means 1 during reproducing and a retrieval command is inputted from a retrieval command input means 2, the code added the video signal is identified by a code identifying/comparing means 4, and the program search of the medical examination image added the code is performed.
