Abstract:
Automatic mail-sorting systems have a series of containers for filling, to which a second series of empty containers is allocated. In a system for separating mail into the particular containers provided, individual containers have to be changed as quickly as possible when they become full. A displacement device is required for this purpose. According to the invention, the displacement device is configured as a clocked track consisting of rails (100) which are limited lengthways, and which are displaced at clocked intervals. The rails each have height-adjustable carriers (150, 150', 150'') for the containers (200). The individual containers (200) are replaced as follows: in each case, an active container (200') is detachably fixed in a crosswise direction to the track and on contact with an empty container (200), the fixing element of the active container (200') is released until the empty container (200) has taken up the position of the active container (201).
