PURPOSE: To carryout a comfortable heating with smell in a room removed by a panel heater to heat the room utilizing radiation heat.

CONSTITUTION: The panel heater is provided with a body 1 opened in a front surface, a panel-shaped heater 3 arranged in the body 1 and having a heat generator 2, and a heat shielding plate 5 which is arranged behind the panel- shaped heater 3 with a specified gap from the heater 3, sloped outward in an upper side and coated with catalyst deodorant coating 6 on a side facing the panel-shaped heater 3. By this, airstream generated by heat of the heat generator 2 passes the shielding plate 5 coated with the catalyst deodorant coating 6 and circulated within a room. Thus, as smell component is attached to the catalyst deodorant coating 6, smell in the room can be decreased.
