Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for alkylating naphthalenes, having high conversion of raw material naphthalenes and high retaining property of the yield of alkylation product.
CONSTITUTION: In alkylating naphthalenes by reacting a naphthalene and/or an alkylnaphtalene with methanol in the presence of a catalyst, the reaction is carried out using a Y type zeolite having ≤24.37 lattice constant as the catalyst.
