Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect the inattentive driving, the asleep driving, etc., with higher propriety by setting variably the grant time in accordance with the change of the driver's face angle to the direction to be set during the driving. CONSTITUTION:A moving direction detecting means 1 detects the direction of a driver's face, and an angle detecting means 2 detects an angle set between the direction detected by the means 1 and the reference direction where the driver's face should be turned during the driving. Then a grant time setting means 3 sets variably the grant time based on the detected angle. In such a constitution, the inattentive driving grant time is shortened as the face turning angle increases. Therefore an alarm is produced in a comparatively short time in an inattentive driving state where the face turning angle is large and the degree of danger is comparatively high. As a result, an accurate action is attained in accordance with the driving state of the driver.
