PURPOSE: To allow running at a speed equal to or close to a limit speed by eliminating the error between a speed indicated on a train speedometer and a check speed.
CONSTITUTION: A signal input means 11 receives a signal from a speed generator 100 and shapes the signal into a speed pulse signal which is fed to a processing means 14. A wheel diameter setting means 12 receives a numeric signal, being set according to the wheel diameter of a train, and delivers the numeric signal to the processing means 14. A limit speed signal input means 13 receives a limit speed signal which is then fed to the processing means 14. The processing means 14 checks the speed based on these signals and a brake signal output means 15 outputs a brake signal while a speed signal output means 16 outputs a speed signal. Consequently, the speed indicated on a train speedometer 200 is equalized to the brake check speed and a train can run in safety at a speed close to a limit speed.
