PURPOSE: To provide a thermal transfer medium formed by bonding a thermal transfer film and an image receiving material in a spot like state using adhesive particles so as to be capable of performing the control of bonding strength in a good state and excellent in preservability.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer medium is constituted of a thermal transfer film consisting of a base material film and the hot-melt ink layer formed on the base material film and the image receiving film 2 bonded to the hot-melt ink layer of the thermal transfer film in a releasable manner through a temporary adhesive layer 3 and the temporary adhesive layer 30 consists of adhesive particles and a binder and the hot-melt ink layer of the thermal transfer film and the image receiving sheet 2 are bonded in a spot like bonded state.
