PURPOSE: To obtain a method for orienting particles in which the filler particles can uniformly be oriented in parallel in a constant direction and an anisotropic composite sheet by using this method.
CONSTITUTION: A material consisting essentially of filler particles treated with a coupling agent, an alkaline earth metallic compound and a liquid matrix resin component is prepared and filled in a sheet molding frame mold 1. A pair of electrodes 2 are then arranged so as to sandwich the material filled in the sheet molding frame mold 1. The liquid matrix resin component is subsequently solidified while applying a DC voltage across both the electrodes 2. In the process, the particles treated with the coupling agent and the alkaline earth metallic compound in the material are oriented along the lines of electric force created by the voltage applied across both the electrodes in the liquid matrix resin component. Thereby, the objective sheet in which the filler particles and the alkaline earth metallic compound are oriented in the constant direction is prepared.
