PURPOSE: To prevent a phenomenon of decreasing in denitrification efficiency generated when NO2 concn. in an exhaust gas is high from occurring by providing a reduction catalyst layer reducing NO2 to NO on the upstream side of a dry type denitrification apparatus using NH as a reducing agent.
CONSTITUTION: An apparatus 11 for reducing NO2 to NO is provided in an exhaust gas duct 2 from a gas turbine or an internal combustion engine 1. In addition, an exhaust gas boiler 3 contg. heat exchangers 8-10, an NH3 feeding nozzle 6 and a denitrification apparatus 7 filled with an NOX reduction catalyst is connected on the down stream of this apparatus. Furthermore, a chemney 5 is connected on the down stream through an exhaust gas duct 4. As described above, after majority of NO2 in the exhaust gas is reduced to NO, NOX is decomposed and eliminated by a denitrification catalyst layer for catalytic reduction of NH3 in a waste heat recovery apparatus.
