PURPOSE: To provide a monorail type multi-limb moving device effective for a physically handicapped person to ascend or descend a stairway, having a fixed installation structure not obstructing the movement of an ordinary healthy person, having a mobile facility capable of being stored at a nonobstructive location when not in use, inexpensive, easy to install, and simple to maintain.

CONSTITUTION: A rail 1 is installed at the upper position along a stairway, and an elevator 2 is lifted and lowered in the suspended state along the rail 1. The elevator 2 is provided with a boarding frame 3 and two drive link mechanisms 4 fitted at the front and rear upper sections of the frame 3 and constituting pseudo linear mechanisms. The drive link mechanisms 4 are provided with a pair of the front and rear rotary members 6, 6 synchronously driven by a motor 5 on the frame 3, and the drive link mechanisms 4 constituting a pair of pseudo linear mechanisms driven in opposite phases to each other are provided on the rotary members 6, 6. Suspension members 8 coupling the elevator 2 with the rail 1 in the suspended state are rotatably connected to the tips of drive links 7 performing the pseudo linear motion of the drive link mechanisms 4.
