Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase an intake filling quantity by reducing intake resistance and form powerful swirls by forming swirls in a cylinder particularly, in an intake structure of an engine. CONSTITUTION:When the angle between the center line (a) in the portion of an intake port 2a, extending approximately in straight line, in the cylinder head 1 and the bottom surface (b) of the cylinder head 1 is expressed as A, the inclination angle between the center line (c) of an intake valve 5a for opening/closing the intake port 2a and the center line (d) of the cylinder is expressed as B and the angle between the circumferential surface of the umbrella portion 5a' approximately in conical form of the intake valve 5a and the plane intersecting the center line (c) of the valve 5a perpendicularly is expressed as C, the angles are set to satisfy the relation C>=A+B.
