PURPOSE: To reduce the development of drift caused by the contraction of a slide valve and the stuck rate of deposition into an immersion nozzle, to improve the fluidity in the mold and the quality of a product and to stabilize an opera tion.
CONSTITUTION: In the slide valve device for continnous casting which is fitted to the lower part of a molten metal pouring port in a molten metal vessel and controls the pouring rate of the molten metal from the nozzle arranged at the lower part by changing the pouring area of the pouring port formed in each plate while sliding a movable plate 12 to fixed plates 11, 17, the pouring ports 15, 16, 18 formed in each plate 11, 12, 17 is made to have the hole diameter at the lower part of the plate smaller than the hole diameter at the upper part of the plate.
