Abstract:
PURPOSE: To cover a stent which is used for the percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and supplied from a catheter by providing a protection sheath for surrounding a balloon part, a retraction means for retracting the protection sheath from the balloon part, and a lumen for storing the retraction means. CONSTITUTION: A retractable sheath 50 is formed of a material having a flexibility or rigidity and protects a stent 55 as a whole. The retraction member lumen 25 stores a retraction member 45 which is attached to the retractable sheath 50 for protecting the stent 55, when the stent 55 is moving. The retraction member 45 is constituted of a rod, a wire, or a high molecular material tube. The retraction member 45 is extended from the retraction member lumen 25 through an exit hole 60, passes though a slit 65 extended along the longitudinal axis of the catheter 10, and continues to the outside of an outside lumen 15 and the tip end part is attached to the retractable sheath 50 in an attachment point 70.
