PURPOSE: To provide a TV camera which can output the video signal that includes no luminance change component under the illumination of a fluorescent lamp using a commercial power supply.

CONSTITUTION: An output video signal (a) of an image pickup part 1 is synthesized with a synchronizing signal (b) produced in a control system (not shown in the diagram) by an adder 2 and a TV signal is outputted. In regard of a TV camera of such a constitution, the luminance fluctuation correcting circuits 3-8 are provided between the part 1 and the adder 2. These circuits 3-8 apply the full wave rectification 3 to the waveform of the power voltage of a fluorescent lamp and digitize the rectified waveform through an A/D converter 4 to acquire a signal (d) corresponding to the viewfield luminance of the TV camera. Then the accumulation processing is repeated for a prescribed period (frame period or field period) of the signal (d) to acquire a signal (e) corresponding to the change of the viewfield luminance of the TV camera. Then a signal (g) obtained by inverting 6 and turning the signal (e) into an analog signal is multiplied 8 by the signal (a). As a result, a video signal (h) including substantially no luminance change component is obtained.
