PURPOSE: To obtain a computerized embroidery sewing machine capable of readily embroidering a combined pattern of good quality even by a beginner without requiring labor in combining operation of the patterns and undergoing any influence of the level of operator's skill in combining embroidery patterns and carrying out the embroidery.

CONSTITUTION: The computerized embroidery sewing machine is constructed by reading bar codes corresponding to a desired reference pattern or a changed pattern from a pattern bar code book 13 indicating the reference position for starting the sewing and a pattern of the reference direction for each of the plural patterns and changed patterns under conditions of changed positions in the X- and Y-directions and angle of rotation, etc., together with the bar codes with a reading means 12, and indicating the combined state of the patterns corresponding to the read results in a display means 15 so as to simultaneously forth a combined pattern based on the pattern data of transformed coordinates corresponding to the read data.
