Abstract:
An improved process for producing a vinyl or vinylidene polymer comprising polymerizing a monomer having a vinyl or vinylidene group in the presence of (a) a radical polymerization initiator, (b) an organic phosphorus compound of the formula: wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are independently hydrogen atom, chlorine atom, bromine atom, an alkyl, an aralkyl, or an aryl, (c) an amine hydrohalide or a quaternary ammonium halide, and (d) a copper-containing compound, which can be carried out rapidly and can give the vinyl or vinylidene polymer having excellent mechanical strength without coloring. v
