Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reuse rock wool waste for roadbed material, etc., by a method in which rock wool waste in rock wool producing factory is crushed into a specific grain size and mixed with reproduced crushed stone ballast. CONSTITUTION:Waste wools generated in rock-wool production process and rock-wool moldings such as mats, etc., are crushed into sizes of 1mm or less by crusher. Waste concrete or excavated soil from construction work is crushed by crushers and screened to well-grained material. The crushed waste wools and the well-grained waste concrete are mixed together in drum mixer, etc., to use it as not only lower roadbed material but also upper roadbed or embedding material for road. Since the cement of the waste concrete reacts with waste wools to become a material having highly hydraulic property which can be used as stabilizer such as reproduced crushed stone ballast as well as slope-vegetating base, vitreous material for new applications, etc.
