Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the post branching method for the air blown fiber unit capable of executing post branching without flawing internal coated optical fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A secondary coating layer 5 of the air blown fiber unit 1 is removed to expose a primary coating layer 4. This exposed part is bent and heated to soften the primary coating layer 4 and to shrink a tear cord 31, by which the primary coating layer 4 is torn. The coated optical fibers 2 are then taken out of the primary coating layer 4 and the branching operation is carried out.
