PURPOSE: To prevent erroneous reception at the time of tracking by storing a condition when a broadcasting station whose frequency is the same as that mentioned in an AF list and whose PI data is different is erroneously received and inhibiting AF search under the condition.

CONSTITUTION: A first memory 10 stored the AF (alternate frequency) list being RDS (radio data system) data which is read from the broadcasting station received at present and PI data. A second memory 11 stores the condition at the time of automatic tracking to the AF station during the broadcasting of the same program mentioned in the AF list and at the time of erroneously receiving it. A control part 12 compares the signal intensity of the received station at present at the time of automatic tracking with the signal intensity of the selected AF station based on the detection level of a signal meter 9, and searches the AF station in a satisfactory reception state. It is checked whether the AF search is the AF search of the broadcasting station which is erroneously received before or not based on data of the second memory 11. When it is the broadcasting station which is erroneously received before, AF search is inhibited.
