Abstract:
Cosmetic compsns. comprise a film-forming material, a plasticiser and a solvent, where the plasticiser is a crosslinked polyester produced by polycondensation of adipic acid with diethylene glycol and a polyol contg. at least 3 OH gps. Pref. the polyol is glycerol. The compsn. comprises 0.1-15% plasticiser, 5-35% film former and 50-94.9% solvent. The film former is selected from nitrocellulose, polyvinyl butyral, cellulose acetobutyrate, and alkyd, polyester, acrylic, polyurethane, polyamide and vinylic resins. A co-plasticiser may be used, esp. selected from dialkyl phthalates, benzyl and glyceryl benzoates, trialkyl citrates, tributyl acetylcitrate, tributyl and triphenyl phosphates, glycols and camphor.
