Abstract:
The invention concerns oligobenzimidazole derivatives capable of combining with nucleic acids of general formula (I) wherein: R represents a hydrogen atom or certain substituents; n is an integer equal to 2, 3, 4 or 5; and R' represents a -O-R3, -S-R3, NHR3 group or -O-CO-NH-R3 and R3 represents an alkyl group; or R' represents a -NR4R5 group or -O-CO-NR4R5 and R4 and R5 represent each an alkyl group, the alkyl radicals containing 12 to 22 carbon atoms; their salts, compositions containing them and their uses, for example for transferring in vitro, in vivo or ex vivo nucleic acids into cells or for visual display of nucleic acids administered by fluorescence.
