Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable the division of an optical fiber tape core cable for every desired number of cores easily and stably by equipping a rod-shaped curved support body with both ends thereof so positioned as to be opposite to each other, and a flexible wire body of circular section extended between the opposite ends of the support body. CONSTITUTION:A wire-shaped body 1 is extended between both opposite ends of a curved rod-shaped support body 2, thereby forming a dividing tool 10. For dividing an optical fiber tape core cable 3, a separation portion 4 containing the desired number of cores of optical fiber wires 5 to be separated from the core cable 3 is preliminarily separated and the wire-shaped body 1 is passed through the separation portion 4. Thereafter, the wire-shaped body 1 is fastened to the ends of the support body 2 of the dividing tool 10. The wire-shaped body 1 is inserted into the separation portion 4 of the optical fiber tape core cable 3, and fastened to the ends of the support body 2 in such a way as to obtain length for optimum deflection theta for divisional quality. In addition, the wire-shaped body 1 while being tensioned is moved in an arrow D direction corresponding to the lengthwise direction of the optical fiber tape core cable 3, thereby separating the core cable 3 from the part of the separation portion 4.
