PURPOSE: To laterally move a vehicle which can move only in the rectilinear advance direction due to wheels or a crawler, in the perpendicular direction to the rectilinear advance direction.

CONSTITUTION: Moving mechanisms 8 and 9 composed of moving beams 27 and 47 movable in the horizontal direction, outriggers 28, 29, 48 and 49 fixed to the front and rear ends of the moving beams 27 and 47 and a pair of link mechanisms interposed between the side surfaces of a car body 1 and the moving beams 27 and 47 so as to be extensible and contractible in the horizontal direction, are fixed respectively to the left and right of the car body 1, and one link mechanism is contacted synchronously when the other link mechanism is extended, and the car body 1 is moved horizontally in the lateral direction.
