Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the binding durability of a belt layer by forming the belt layer through coating of a steel cord consisting of a plurality of element wires twisted with each other and having an expansion of more than a predetermined level with an organic high polymer coating layer, and through embedding it in coating rubber, and thereafter by specifying 25% modulus for both layers respectively where that of the coating layer is larger. CONSTITUTION:A steel cord a consisting of a plurality of, that is two, for example, element wires twisted with each other, and having an expansion of more than 0.1% when a tensile load of 4kg is applied is coated with a coating layer 3 consisting of organic high polymer material, that is epoxy resin, for example, having a 25% modulus of more than 15kg/cm<2>. In addition, it is embedded in coating rubber of a 25% modulus of more than 10kg/cm<2>, that is a natural rubber layer 4, for example, to form a belt layer reinforced belt 5. The 25% modulus of the organic high polymer material is set larger than that of the coating rubber. In this constitution, the binding durability of the belt layer can be improved.
