Title:
BULK METAL CHIP RESISTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0620802
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To dispense with laying a conductive line (terminal) extended to both ends in its axial direction by forming 1st and 2nd terminals of conductive layers, having conductivity higher than that of the resisting material for a resistor. CONSTITUTION: A resistor element 12 consisting of an oblong plate made of resisting metallic material is molded. Conductive coating, having conductivity higher than that of the resisting material, is applied to the element 12. Then the coating is removed from the center part of the element 12, and the coated both ends of the element 12 are used as terminals 14, 16. The terminals 14, 16 are bent downward. Then a dielectric insulating material 18 is applied to the center part of the element 12 by a molding work. Consequently, a high rated watt value can be set up, and a resistor having a lower resistance value can be obtained.
