PURPOSE: To enhance abnormality detecting sensitivity by removing resonance noise hard to receive limit in peak width or the number of peaks in monitoring the abnormal phenomenon of a plant.
CONSTITUTION: The acoustic monitoring device is constituted of a microphone 11 detecting an acoustic signal containing leakage sound to convert the same into an electric signal, an amplifier 20 amplifying the electric signal to a proper level, a noise removing part 3 removing resonance noise other than the leakage sound and an abnormality discrimination part 9 discriminating the presence of abnormality form the magnitude of the detection acoustic signal level of the leakage sound. Since a plurality of resonance noises generated even at the time of the normal operation of a plant and causing the lowering of abnormal sound detecting sensitivity can be removed automatically, the abnormal sound detecting sensitivity can be enhanced and the performance of the acoustic monitor device can be enhanced.
